Degree in English (Teacher Education): Students are trained to learn a wide range of basic English language theories, proficient language ability as well as the ability to analyze and solve problems. Besides, the students are also expected to be qualified to work as both teachers and researchers in middle schools. Generally they are demanded to grasp a second foreign language. Core curriculum includes English reading, English pronunciation, English grammar, English listening, spoken English, English writing, English linguistics, British and American literature, pedagogy, psychology, research methodology and thesis writing, etc. Major elective courses include design of teaching syllabus, study of middle school English textbooks, new concepts in English education, simultaneous interpretation, internet English, English debate, computer language study, college Chinese language, etc. Students are granted the Bachelor degree of Arts with at least 175 credits, and the time range is 3 to 8 years.

 

Degree in English: Students are trained to learn wide range of basic English language theories, relatively broad range of knowledge on science and culture, have good command of English language, the ability to analyze and solve problems, and the spirit of teamwork and communicative abilities. Generally they are demanded to grasp a second foreign language. They are expected to be qualified to work as an interpreter, research assistant or administrator in the area of foreign affairs, economics and trade, culture, news press, education, science and research, tourism, etc. Core curriculum includes English reading, English listening, spoken English, English writing, theories and practice in translation, selected reading of foreign papers, British and American literature, research methodology and thesis writing, etc. Major elective courses include marketing, management, simultaneous interpretation, internet English, English debate, business English, computer language study, college Chinese language etc. Students are granted the Bachelor degree of Arts with at least 175 credits, and the time range is 3 to 8 years.

 

Degree in English (Interpretation): Students are trained to learn wide range of basic English language theories, comparatively broad sense of major and multicultural knowledge, capable of communication in both English and Chinese, as well as the ability to analyze and solve problems. Besides, the students are expected to be qualified to work as interpreters, translators, teaching assistants and administrator in the areas of foreign affairs, economics and trade, culture, education, science and research, foreign companies etc. Generally they are demanded to grasp a second foreign language. Core curriculum includes English reading, English listening, English writing, spoken English, English interpretation, visual and audio English, English debate, simultaneous interpretation, theories and practice in translation, theories and techniques in translation, etc. Major elective courses include America on TV, internet English, technological English, techniques in English speech, computer language study, college Chinese language, etc. Students are granted the Bachelor degree of Arts with at least 175 credits, and the time range is 3 to 8 years.

 

Degree in Russian (Business): Students are trained to command solid Russian language foundation, relatively broad range of knowledge on business and culture, the ability to analyze and solve problems, and the spirit of teamwork and communicative abilities. Generally they are demanded to grasp a second foreign language (English), and pass the band II of PETS. Students of this major are qualified to work as a business interpreter and translator in the area of economics and trade, marketing, media, culture, news press, education, administration, etc. Core curriculum includes the basic courses like comprehensive Russian, visual and audio Russian, spoken Russian, translation, interpretation etc. Elective courses include economic and trade Russian, technological Russian, tourism Russian, Russian business writing, economics in Russia , etc. Students are granted the Bachelor degree of Arts with at least 175 credits, and the time range is 3 to 8 years.

 

Degree in Japanese : Students are trained to command solid Japanese language foundations, skillful use of Japanese, well understand the history, culture, politics and economics of Japan , as well as a proficient use of both Chinese and Japanese. Generally they are demanded to grasp a second foreign language (English), and pass the band II of PETS. Students of this major are qualified to work as teachers, interpreters, research assistants or administrators in the fields of foreign affairs, economics and trade, culture, news press, education, tourism, etc. Core basic curriculum includes comprehensive Japanese, Japanese listening, spoken Japanese, Japanese writing, theories and practice in translation etc. Major elective courses include economic and trade Japanese, technological Japanese, business Japanese, Japanese linguistics and Japanese literature.
