English Department I
Founded in 1953, English Department was subdivided into two sections in July 2003, namely, English Department I and English Department II. English Department I (1st-2nd year teaching) is in charge of the fundamental teaching and administration. Since its establishment, Department I has developed a pride in having Thirty-three professionals, among which Five associate professors, Eleven lecturers, Seventeen teaching assistants, Three university-level postgraduate tutors, Two college-level postgraduate tutors, One Ph.D. candidate, Twenty-one postgraduates and Ten postgraduate candidates. There are Eight foreign teachers from Britain , the USA and Australia .
In the last three years, Department I has undertaken Two research projects at the provincial level, One project in foreign language teaching reforms at the provincial level and One project in foreign language teaching reforms at the university level , and participated in One research project at the provincial level. Department I has published over Forty academic articles at the provincial level or above , and Twenty academic books, translated works, textbooks and reference books.
After years of endeavor, Department I has formed a teachers' group imbued with vitality, unity and strong duty for work, sense of responsibility and high-quality teaching. The teachers in Department I play a positive role in the public service, awarded certificates of PETS (level 3-5) examiner, Cambridge Young Learners English examiner, and International Oral Test Examiner of Trinity College, London . Having supervised some important tests, Department I has won honors for Shenyang Normal University .
