Japanese Department
Founded in 1995, Japanese Department offers Two bachelor-degree programs: Japanese Language and Japanese Teacher Education. In 2003, The Institute of Japanese Culture was set up. In 2006, the School for the first time began to recruit postgraduates majoring in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics (Japanese). Meanwhile, Japanese Department undertakes the teaching of the second foreign language for undergraduates and postgra duates (English Major). At present, Japanese Department has a young and dynamic teaching body of Eighteen faculty members with optimized structure of professional title, academic prestige matching with educational and managerial experience, among which there are Two professors, Seven associate professors, Four lecturers, and Five teaching assistants. There are Two teachers of Japanese nationalities.
Over the past three years, Japanese Department has undertaken Seven research projects at the provincial level, and published Six academic works, Nineteen textbooks and more than Seventy academic articles at the provincial level or above.
The students in Japanese Department have obtained remarkable achievements with high praise in the national or municipal Japanese composition and speech contest. Every year, one or two students will be awarded a scholarship from MEXT ( Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) to study in Japan . Besides, five to seven students can make use of the academic exchange programs to study in Hokkaido University of Education.
The graduates are highly praised by the employers at home or abroad. With successive 100% employment rates, 90% of the graduates work in Japanese enterprises or Chinese-Japanese joint ventures, such as Dalian Dell Incorporation, Dalian HP Branch Company, Dalian Administrative and Technological Counseling Company of the General Electric, Shenyang ANA (All Nippon Airways), Shenyang Neusoft Group, etc. 20% graduates are enrolled as MA candidates by Beijing Normal University , Waseda University , Hokkaido University, etc.
